COMME DES GARCONS INSPIRED NAILS

I'd seen heart tipped nails a few times around the internet in the past and was very keen on trying it myself. However, it wasn't until I stumbled upon a blog called Moveslightly that I saw these stunning Comme des Garcons Play-inspired nails!! I fell in love with them, and felt they were so unique and different from what other people were sporting. I knew I had to try it.

I waited until my nails were quite long so that the ends would be the perfect length to be shaped into a rounded point. This way they would work really well with the shape of a heart. I was a little nervous that it was going to be impossible for me to do my nails this way without them being messy. I used a clear base coat, and used a few coats of a lush bright red for the hearts. I then used black and white nail pens to create the eyes.

This is the result! They are SO cute!!!! I am so pleased with how they have turned out! It was surprisingly really simple and easy. They arn't perfect which is something that usually really bugs me, but I think because the design is so fun it doesn't really matter. They are the best! I LOVE them SO MUCH!!

WOO JAY-Z

OMG you see Jay-Z rocking Radio 1's Hackney weekend??? It was soo incredible! I'm so jealous of the people who went!! It looked insane! Jay-Z headlined Saturday night and it was so completely mesmerising. I couldn't look away from my TV screen for his whole set. It felt like such a communal event. It felt like so many people were experiencing this great show together and connecting with other people through this one spectacle. Even Beyonce was spotted raving with friends in the front of the crowd! She looked like she was having the best time! I couldn't believe what I was seeing! It was so cool to see this woman who is projected in the worlds media as this god-like figure, just sharing an experience in a rainy field in Hackney!! It took me back to Jay's Glastonbury performance a few years ago. I remember watching it on the TV with my family, and being  blown away by his talent and his stage presence.  He is just another level completely. It introduced me to some of his best material, and from that point on I became a complete fanatic. I made a little playlist of my favourite Jay-Z tracks (this includes some collaborations, obvs):
Big Pimpin'
99 Problems
03' Bonnie & Clyde
Hard Knock Life
Why I Love You
Girls Girls Girls
Numb/Encore
No Church in the Wild
Who Gon Stop Me
N***as in Paris

DIOR ADDICT

Oooh Dior Addict!!! The whole advert is so beautiful it was hard to pick some my favourite parts.
Visually the whole ad is completely dreamy, with pretty colours and a gorgeous setting.
Model Daphne Groeneveld is SOOO beautiful and the perfect star in this mini-movie for Dior's new fragrance. Oh Oh, and there is a fluffy little kitty on Daphne's head! How cute is that?! One of the best things I've ever seen! I love it all soo much. XOXOXOX

FORTIES FESTIVAL!

Woah it's only the Pantiles 40's Festival this weekend! I was working there yesterday and it was so fun. The Pantiles was super busy and full of people enjoy the entertainment and checking out the many stalls. Yesterday there was dancing at the bandstand and a beautiful lady who did a burlesque act (ooh la la) while people were sipping on their tea. The shop was packed for most of the day and I met loads of lovely people. That's one of the best parts of my job - all the people I meet. I like the chatty and friendly people that come in. Makes me feel like I've made a new friend <3. Aww. This is the first of a few exciting events in the Pantiles this summer. Only next week it is the Pantiles Fashion Festival, which sadly I cannot attend (boooo) and next month is the Pantiles Vintage Fair, celebrating all things vintage clothing and style. Since it was such an event, myself and many others dressed up a little to get in the spirit. I tried to acheive '40's in 2012'. Do you think it works?? ;)
I wore a vintage blouse from Rokit with my Topshop shorts and tights (still pretty cold out :| ). My bag is from a charity shop and the sunglasses are also Topshop. The red lips are Rimmel.

OOH NIGHT OUT ANYONE?

I went out with some of my lovely friends last night for some drinkies in Wetherspoons. Apparently Thursday is the night to party these days. It was soooo good to catch up with everyone. We had pitchers of cocktails between us, which were so yummy. MMMmm cocktails are my new fave for real. <3 <3 WOAH it was so crazy there though. It was so packed out with like every 18 year old in town showing up. It got a little intense! I was like 'I HAVE TO GO TO THE BATHROOM D;' which meant I somehow needed to get to the loos through the growing crowds of drunkards. It was so fun though. Loads of laughs and giggles with the girlies!
Smock from Topshop, Leggings from New Look, Heels from Select.
HA my top was a bit see-through - oops! I think I got away with it.

THE QUEEN & KATE

PA
Ahh the Royals. I have never been more in love. I am pretty much certain. I have sort of gone a bit cray for the little Queen and her tribe of beautiful progeny of late. Women nationwide have also taken notice, seeing that right now it is all about her Madge and Kate Midd.

EPA
Over that looong Diamond Jubilee weekend recently The Queen really looked pretty special. I've not really seen Liz as much of a 'style icon' like others have but I am starting to actually love what she's been wearing. I mean the woman knows what works for her. The combination of long coat with matching dress, gloves, hat and classic handbag never seems to fail her. Naturally, she glammed it up big time for the main day of events with that spectacular crystal-studded ensemble which glistened throughout the days proceedings. It was some serious head-to-toe bling she was working. She kind of looked like a giant diamond, which is just completely awesome.

She also looked super-cute at the concert the previous night. As mentioned, the lady has a formula which she has stuck to and worked since forever. So when she arrived in this stunning long black cape with gold detailing, I was both taken aback and totally captivated. I honestly took to the world wide web to see where it was from and where I could get one. It was real style from her Madge that people (well..me anyway) could get with.

The Queen isn't the only women making noise. Since she gracefully floated out of her car to display to the world her Alexander McQueen wedding dress last summer, everyone has been fascinated by Kate and her style choices. Of course, that dress was stunning. It was an elegant dress for a perfectly elegant women. I didn't take any notice of Pippa (or her behind*) that day. It was all Kate. She looked incredible.

A far-less praised look from the Duchess came later that night, with her gorgeous gown and mohair cardigan. I LOVED THIS LOOK. REALLY REALLY LOVED IT. SO beautiful. Possibly my favourite from her. It was completely fairytale.

FOR THE RECORD, I want to clarify that I love Kate. She seems so warm and lovely and I absolutely love her. But I'm a bit gutted to say, I'm not the biggest fan of Kate's outfit choices. As a Royal, naturally Kate has to keep a demure and sophisticated approach to what she wears. I get that. It's just a bit DULL sometimes. There isn't anything special or exciting or 'WOW SHE LOOKS BEAUTIFUL' about these looks.  Neutral or dark colours seem to be what she goes for on most occasions. They are just a bit lack-luster for me. She kind of looks like an guest at a wedding or like she works for the council. Only this morning I got an email from a popular high street fashion chain telling me to 'Get the Kate look'. Not being funny, but what 'look' exactly?

Here she looks HOT!! This is what I want. This I really love. The outfits here are so bright and vibrant. Most importantly though, she looks so pretty here, and the colour really makes her glow. The stunning red outfit from the flotilla parade was the best thing I've seen her in in a long time. It was demure yet still youthful and fun. Earlier in the year, she again looked SOO beautiful in a Jenny Packham turquoise gown. The colour was so fresh! I really want to see her in more attention-grabbing dresses like this soon. Although the sensible nude heels could do with a bit of a re-vamp.

All in all, It's pretty clear to see that my love for the Queen and the Duchess of Cambridge is pretty much at full capacity right now. :) <3

*I honestly don't understand the mass hysteria that came from Pippa wearing that bridesmaid dress. I saw her. She looked okay. It was a really nice dress, and her arse was average. I seriously don't get the hype. It's no Kimmie K is it?

Lush Turquoise

I love my new turquoise jumper! The colour is so intense and vibrant. It is a lot brighter than I would usually wear, which is great. I have had so many compliments on it already. I wore it with some simple black leggings so to make the top really standout. I also added a simple gold chain and a handful of rings. The colour also contrasted with my new nails so well! I am continuing my recent trend of super-girly nails with this gorgeous baby pink. I needed a new pink so badly, so yesterday I went searching for ages in town until I found the perfect shade. I am so happy with it, and my nails look insanely pretty!

Daisy Nails

I've had my eye on nail pens for a while now, so when I saw these the other day I grabbed one in every colour! I was buzzing with different ideas for ages, but decided to do these cute daisies with a sky blue background. They are a bit clumsy, but I still totally love them as they are so bright and cheerful!
