THE BRITISH FASHION AWARDS 2012 !!

Hello! As many will know, on Tuesday night at The Savoy Hotel in London the British Fashion Awards took place! I love awards shows and big star-studded events, so an event all about the British fashion world was so exciting for me. I couldn't wait to find out about the winners and get a look at all the stunning outfits and gorgeous faces. Below are my favourite looks from the night:

WHO? Roksanda Ilincic (designer)
I love this gothic mash-up. Roksanda, who picked up the Red Carpet Award, wore a midi dress embellished with lace, flowers and sequins in a quirky tartan pattern. I love the pulled-back, minimalistic hair, bare eyes and dark lips. I also love how individual and different this whole look is - top marks!!

WHO? Cara Delevingne (model)
Cara won the Model award, after being seen everywhere on the fashion scene in the past year. She looks the epitome of cool wearing a zesty lime green Burberry mini dress with matching metallic accessories. She looks so edgy and punky, with messy hair, smoky eyes, and minimal jewellery to complete this hot look.

WHO? Gemma Arterton (actress)
Gemma hosted the show alongside Radio One DJ Nick Grimshaw, and opted for a timeless jumpsuit. Her platform metallic shoes give this look a twist, but I would have liked to have seen better accessorising? I'm not really feeling the bangle. Maybe something a little more glamorous for such an occasion. I'm loving her new red hair though.

WHO? Rita Ora (singer)
Rita's had a pretty amazing year, and it can only be getting better as she wows in this Vivienne Westwood dress. She looks like an old-school Hollywood starlet, with her trademark curly blond locks and a statement diamond necklace. I love what this gown does for Rita's figure, with the scoop neckline and tiny waist giving her this amazing hourglass silhouette. I love the off-the-shoulder sleeve detailing and the sweet duck-egg blue, which keeps this look classy and elegant. For me, this was the stand-out look of the night. Gorgeous!

XOXO

PEARLY QUEEN

PEARL ROLL NECK CROP TOP - TOPSHOP

Hello!! I'm doing my best at the moment to go on a shopping detox and refrain from buying any more clothes for a while. HOWEVER - I can't help doing a little Internet window shopping every few days. Yesterday I was doing a little bit of browsing and found this gem. I'm so mad for this embellished crop top. I would love to wear it with riding pants or high-waisted shorts. Wearing it with a slinky maxi skirt would also make a super-cute alternative to an evening dress for a fancy do. It's just SO beautiful and I love it. XOXO

FEELING MOODY

Hey guys! So last week I discovered an old mood ring in my jewellery box that I bought years and years ago and it's so cool. I think I was about ten years old when I got it and I used to think they actually really predicted your mood! Now it's just a cool bit of nostalgia and fun.

Topshop has recently gotten into the 90's/early 2000's vibe too and released some cool mood jewellery. The earrings are definitely my favourite and if I had more than a few pennies in my purse I would buy them in a second. Maybe I'll have to ask Santa? They are a fun alternative to original jewellery and would be a really easy way to make an outfit a little more interesting.
 1. Mood Cross Stud Earrings - £6.50
2. Mood Cross Necklace - £7.50
 3. Mood Ring - £8.50

Hope you enjoyed! XOXO

A LITTLE BIT OF NUDE

JUMPER - TOPSHOP, LEGGINGS & LEATHER BIKER JACKET - ASOS

Hey guys! So this is my look from Monday, which I would have posted on the day, but I was not up to it. It has been so ridiculously stressful the last few days. I've had my Art project deadline (which I naturally left until the last minute) and two English presentations which were all due in on Monday so by Monday morning I wasn't doing so great. Just because life can be fun like that, along with everything, I woke on Monday to find I was losing my voice, and now (Wednesday) it is pretty much gone. I decided on Sunday night that if Monday was probably going to suck then I needed to wear something relaxed and comfortable to make me feel better. I wore a baggy jumper with simple leggings and Chelsea boots. I slung my new leather biker jacket on top and wearing this look made me feel cosy and comforted all day long. XOXO

CHRISTMAS SWEATERS ARE SO NOT COOL

JUMPER (OLD) - TOPSHOP, BAG - TOPSHOP

Hey guys I haven't blogged too much recently what with so many projects and deadlines in the last week or so. I wore this outfit to college last week and thought the jumper was worth a mention. I got it for Christmas last year from my Uncle and because I have so many clothes that I forgot that I had it until a week ago. When I see jumpers like this the term 'geek chic' springs to mind, which for me is not a good thing. I wore it with a short black skirt, tights and heeled boots to make it a little more my style. It's quite different from my usual looks (although it's black so what am I saying..) but I made it work to suit how I like to dress. On a better note, it was really really nice to wear as it was super snug and cosy. XOXO

CELEB LOOKS OF THE WEEK

Despite being crazy busy this week with work for college, I've had an eye on a couple of gorgeous celebrity looks and wanted to share.

WHO? Kristen Stewart
WHERE? The Twilight - Breaking Dawn Part Two Premiere in Madrid
WHEN? 15th November 2012
WEARING? Christian Dior S/S 2013

I love this simple mini dress on Kristen. Rarely am I ever heard saying something nice about neon, but this adorable dress is how it's done. This dress is zesty and chic and goes well with Kristen's laid-back and edgy style. I love how she styles it laid-back jewellery, messy and casual hair and Barbara Bui heels to put her own mark on this Dior dress (not literally GOD NO).

WHO? Jessica Alba
WHERE? The First Annual Baby2Baby Gala
WHEN? 2nd November 2012
WEARING? Valentino S/S 2013

Jessica looks classy and heavenly in this Valentino gown. This sugary-sweet pink dress suits Jessica's feminine style perfectly. I love the simple white clutch and the small accents of silver jewellery keeping the attention on the dress. I also love Jessica's soft makeup and pulled-back, basic hairdo too.

WHO? Keira Knightly
WHERE? Premiere of 'Anna Karenina' in Hollywood
WHEN? 14th November 2012
WEARING? Erdem S/S 2013

Keira looks like a typical English Rose in this stunning Erdem floral gown. The minty colour of the dress goes well with Keira's soft look and the billowing skirt gives her the illusion of curves. She's smart and keeps the jewellery to a minimum to keep the look fresh. The up-do and peachy make-up gives Keira the look of innocence, but the hot feline flicks on her eyes give her an edge.

Hope you guys enjoyed! XOXO

MMM X H&M

Move over Lana darling, there is a HOT new H&M collaboration in town! The creative geniuses who brought us the jewel-encrusted face mask (amazing) have created this suitably weird and wonderful collection of female and male items and accessories.

Maison Martin Margiela With H&M

Maison Martin Margiela With H&M

I handpicked a few of my favourite pieces, shown below:

Maison Martin Margiela With H&M Oversized Peacoat, £179.99
Maison Martin Margiela With H&M Oversized Trench Peacoat - £179.99

I love big men's coats, and this oversized trench is like the king of all coats. It is seriously enormous. It only comes in one size too so if you are little then it will be huge. I think teaming it with skinny jeans or leggings and a pair heels would be a must to resist getting swamped.

Maison Martin Margiela With H&M Duvet Coat, £179.99
Maison Martin Margiela With H&M Duvet Coat - £179.99

This Duvet Coat feels more like a life-changing invention rather than an item of clothing. It is what many I'm sure have always dreamt of. It's a duvet you can wear. Potentially the best idea ever conceived. It looks SO snug and and warm and delicious and impractical and I HAVE TO HAVE IT. I feel like I could get through any early winter morning as long as I could just jump straight out of bed and into this.

Maison Martin Margiela With H&M Oversized Turtleneck Jumper, £79.99
Maison Martin Margiela With H&M Oversized Turtleneck Jumper - £79.99

This jumper looks like it would be so great for winter. I love it in both navy and cream and I would wear it with leather leggings or tights, heeled ankle boots, a faux fur gilet and big colourful statement earrings. I also think it would look really good with the oversized peacoat above.

The collection came out this morning and within minutes many items were already out of stock, so if you fancy anything then get involved now before everything is gone! XOXO

I'M BLUE DA BA DEE DA BA DIE

NAIL POLISH - TOPSHOP 'AWOL'

Congrats if you got the reference in the title! I couldn't resist. Anyway check out these beauties! They are pretty great! I first saw this colour at the Erdem Autumn/Winter 2012 show earlier in the year, and ever since I have been on the look out for a electric blue polish. I spotted this in Topshop a week ago and had to get it ASAP. I usually get bored with my nails after a week or so but I can't get enough of this colour! It is so striking and bold and so many people have noticed them and thought they were great. XOXO

VAMPIRE NAILS

CLEAR BASE & TOP COAT - MODELS OWN, PINK GLITTER POLISH - MODELS OWN IN MAGENTA DIVINE, BLACK AND WHITE NAIL PENS - MODELS OWN X WAH NAILS

Belated Happy Halloween everybody! Since I had no plans or parties this year I honoured my favourite holiday with these fun nails. In case you can't tell (some people got confused when they saw them), they are a vampire mouth design. They were a little bit tricky to get right but in the end they turned out pretty good. First, I needed to do a clear base coat on my nails and let them dry. Sometimes I forget to do a base coat but I always remember to do a base coat before applying a glitter polish because when removing the glitter without a base it can really really damage the nails.  I then used a glittery pink polish for the lips, making a small 'V' at the bed of the nail to create the top lip. To get a solid colour I recommend doing two to three coats. I then used the brush end of a black nail pen to make a rugby ball/American football shape in the middle of each nail, making sure it touched the point at the bottom of the 'V' shape. This just makes it look more like a mouth. I then used a white nail pen to draw on the white teeth and fangs. Finally I used to top coat to finish. A top coat can be really good when using glitter polish as it makes the nail really smooth and stops the glitter from fading or coming off. I got loads of compliments from people at collage and at work, and I think they would be good for any time of year too, especially if you are a twihard (Twilight die-hard obvs..) or something :) XOXO

RIDE

This is the beautiful new song from Lana Del Rey, called 'Ride'. Okay it's not really that new so sue me ;). I really really love it! It's moody and dramatic like her album, and the video is really beautiful too. XOXO
