AUGUST: IM FEELING INSPIRED

I've been blogging quite a lot this month thanks to a sudden surge of inspiration and enthusiasm on my part. Also, my life is pretty empty at the moment so... hello internet, I've missed you :). Even though I've been doing this for a little while now I'm still figuring out what I love to write about - a combination of music, movies, make-up, fashion and life. With so many big, influential bloggers out there, sometimes I do feel the pressure to write the right thing and try to be like other people. I keep having to remind myself to just write about whatever I like and whatever works for me. I figure that all I can do is write about whatever I'm feeling passionate about and just hope for the best!

ZARA TNF

Zara is the current love interest in my life :) I'm completely head over heels with the new TNF collection in particular, with my shopping bag becoming more and more full everyday. I have a pretty good feeling that the majority of my wardrobe for the rest of the year will be Zara. It is all so gorgeous.

I am particularly drawn to the TNF collection over the regular Zara woman's collection, because of its overall more wearable and everyday vibe. Also, it's way cheaper and affordable. Certain trends that I've noticed from the new range and that I love include plaid, tartan, powder pink, babydoll dresses and loads of floral designs. The style is fashion-oriented nineties girly-grunge. Think Courtney Love but with a little more style. The whole collection of clothes fits perfectly into my own personal style, making it my current one-stop destination for almost everything.

The collection is really inspired by St. Laurent Paris' Autumn/winter show, with a feminine 90's grunge inspired collection. It was without a doubt my favourite show from last season.

I've already bought quite a few pieces from Zara this week, and now I'm just excited for it to get a bit cooler so I can start dressing up and buying more!

APPLAUSE

I don't know where you've been if you haven't heard Lady Gaga's brand new single, Applause. It's sort of come out of nowhere in the past week and is all people are talking about. Personally, the track is what I would class as a 'grower'. I liked it when I first heard it, but wasn't blown away as I usually am by Gaga. Having listened to it countless times now, I can safely say that I love it. The much-anticipated video was released this morning and in my eyes was a far more instant success. It is exactly what you want and expect from Gaga - an art-house fantasy extravaganza. I actually haven't stopped watching it all day. It's kind of mesmerising and fascinating to watch Lady Gaga do her thing again. I'm so excited that she's back.

COLLECTION 2000 FIX ME UP LONG LASTING MAKE-UP FIXER

Thanks to beauty blogs and Youtube channels such as Zoella, Pixiwoo and Tanya Burr, over the past year I've become increasingly interested in make-up and the world of beauty. I'm no real expert on make-up or beauty products at all but I am seriously enjoying playing around with it and exploring how to use it. So as a result of this, I've recently bought and started using some great products and the one I am writing about here is a particular standout favourite for me at the moment.

The idea is that it is a spray that you use after applying all of your makeup, that claims to keep your makeup in place all day. It's a pretty big statement, and one that I was slightly sceptical of. I expected it to last for a few hours in normal weather before gradually wearing off.

I chose to first use this spray before a party I was going to on a very hot day. I sprayed it on my face four times (the bottle says to do between 2 - 4) after applying all my make up, and then headed out the door. The majority of my make-up honestly stayed put all night. In fact, because I was drunk I forgot to take off my make-up and in the morning my make-up was still in place. What I would say is that it works amazingly at keeping foundation and the make-up on your skin in place (blush, concealer etc.), whereas it does not work as well with keeping eye make-up in place. Saying that, my eye make-up still lasted a pretty long time.

I find this product great to apply before a day at work because I can look pretty gross after a day rushing around at the pub I work at, but this spray has completely fixed that! Now I come home from work looking exactly as I did when I left the house eight hours earlier. It is so great to have a product that once I've put on makes me feel like I can go out for hours doing whatever and not need to worry about my make-up. I was also pleasantly surprised at how the spray made my skin look. It gave my skin a healthy and dewy appearance, without looking sweaty and horrible. It creates the perfect balance for my complexion of not looking too shiny or too matte.

I would seriously recommend this product to anyone. It has become so essential to my make-up routine and I can't praise it enough! I hope you found this useful or interesting, as I hope to write more on make-up products in the future. Thanks for reading! :)

Whether it's the laced-up leather heels, the armour-like statement ring or the gun-shape clutch bag, this outfit makes it clear that you are not to be messed with.

REUNION!

JACKET - ZARA, TEE - VINTAGE, SKIRT - TOPSHOP, BELT - ASOS,
BAG - MARC B @ TOPSHOP, BOOTS - ASOS

I was very happy and excited to be reunited with my friends from sixth form and school yesterday. Unbelievably I hadn't seen any of them in like a month and have missed them so so much! We went for a nice little game of bowling which I sucked at, then went some drinks before getting some late night McDonald's, which was of course amazing. I'd been craving it all evening so when I bit into that burger it was like a little bit of heaven.

Because they just love a shout out, hey Dannii, Fiona and Ollie. I love you guys! Ollie and Dannii told me last night that they read my blog and I thought it was really cute and lovely. I am always a bit pleasantly surprised whenever anyone says they look at my blog :).

MULTICOLOUR

I couldn't decide which colour to paint my nails, so...well, ta da! I've had lots of lovely complements and so many people asking me how I create this look, and actually it was so easy and straightforward. I did a base colour of light baby pink to create a solid overall base for the colours to be applied to. I then applied a few messy splodges of blue to a make-up sponge and applied the colour in dabs to each nail, in random places. I started with softer tones like purple and blue so that they made a better base for brighter colours like the yellow and coral polish. It's a pretty fun and simple way to do nail art because you don't have to be accurate and there isn't really a way you can go wrong!
