My best friend and I went for a good old mooch around the shops earlier this week. I always love spending quality time with my bestest friend in the whole wide world, and this trip was no exception. We spent a good hour or so in Topshop, trying on hats (Dannii looked great in everything - I looked hilarious) and picking up some underwear and general girly bits and pieces. We then went to New Look where we pretty much took over the entire shoe department as we tried on heels. Naturally and as always, we ended the trip filling our faces with MacDonald's. What's not to love about a day like that?

So as you can tell (or perhaps not - it is quite short), I've jumped on the skort bandwagon and bought myself a black pleather skort. I was very keen to wear it as soon as possible, so wore it dressed down with an oversized sweatshirt and boots for a day hanging out with my gurl Dannii. For Autumn/Winter, I think I'll be pairing it with a sweat or an oversized tee, which would be a great way to create a sports-luxe outfit.

God, how have I not blogged so far this month?! Because I've been working a shit ton of shifts at work, that's why! Plus, when I'm not at work, I'm busy with my second job writing for Birthday Mag (if you haven't done so, check it out already!), and so I sort of have had no time. Anyways, this is me getting things back on track - for the meantime anyway.

I've wanted a pair of strappy sandals for months, and with there being so many gorgeous options out there, was finding it hard to find the perfect pair for me. Then while shopping with my bf Dannii the other week I spotted these in New Look and knew they were for me. Well, actually strickly speaking, I first tried on this pair, because in my head I really wanted sandals with a stiletto heel. I've seen so many people - celebrities and bloggers - wearing heels of this height and shape, and I've got to say - how on earth can they walk in them?! Actually, how can even they stand in them?! It was impossible. I instantly knew that they were a bad idea and quickly put them back. So then with a little bit more looking, I found this pair, which have a thicker heel and aren't quite so high. They are super beautiful and comfortable, and with the block heel are far easier to walk in. I can't wait to wear them with boyfriend jeans on a night out sometime soon!

Occasionally a beautiful phenomenon will occur where you hear a brand new song for the very first time and it blows your mind. Hearing 'Dark Horse' by Katy Perry was, for me, one of those times. I love the new darker sound and the major 'trap' influence, creating a really fresh and current sound. This song has been the only things I've played on my iPhone for about a week, and shows no signs of getting old.

So while it may have been the most fashionable month of the year, I've unfortunately been a little busy this month with a mountain of work and so I feel that the blog may have suffered a little bit. Fear not, things will be back on track before you know it!

Of course this month in particular has been bursting at the seams with great style inspiration. The street style at London Fashion Week was full of great, unique looks. Almost everyone was wearing a skirt, so that probably means I'm going to have to get my legs out and embrace the trend too! I also love the oversized fluffy jumpers, which are a much more comfortable trend that I look forward to wearing.

I've wanted these boots for so long but they kept going out of stock. When I saw that they were back on the website the other day I bought them right away without hesitation. So what to say? I LOVE THEM. SO. MUCH.

They debuted last week on a night out and were super comfortable and easy to walk in thanks to the thick platform and chunky heel. I love the shape and style of them too. To me, they are a work of art. I can't wait to wear them with, well, everything. AND they were really cheap at £29.99, which makes these boots not only practical and beautiful, but a complete bargain.

I've been following a brilliant new British program of the BBC called What Remains over the past few weeks. As well as being a great drama that's had me gripped for weeks, it's also brought a new artist to my attention, in the form of Arlissa. I've fallen in love with her haunting and beautiful cover of nineties tune 'You're not Alone'. I really love it. Check it out.

Finally! I've been waiting to blog about this collection ever since I first laid eyes on it! I was obsessed with this show when it was debuted at London Fashion Week last season, and have been excitedly anticipating it's arrival online since. And on Tuesday, it finally landed.

I love the colours, shapes and textures of this collection. Pastel pink and blue might just become my winter staple colours. Opposite ends of the style spectrum were brought together with this show, with light and delicate pieces being matched with heavy-duty jackets, knitwear and boots. PVC skirts were paired with chunky jumpers, while oversized aviator jackets were paired with flowing sequin pieces. Fabric and texture was played with too, with faux-fur, patent leather and PVC, sequins and mohair all being featured throughout the collection.
Below are just some of my favourite items from the collection. The pink shearling jacket is particularly gorgeous and the white feather cropped jumper is to die for. If only I had a spare £500 in my back pocket! *sigh*

So I have very pale skin and this has been a big problem for me make-up wise for so many years. I have never been able to find a spot-on match for my skin, with every lightest option of a make-up brand being too orange or dark for me. This consequently has left me with a draw of full of unused foundation bottles that I stupidly bought years ago and have been unable to do anything with. I feel stupid even admitting it because I know how much money foundation costs and it all adds up to quite a big waste of money. So then I discovered this great mixer product from Barry M.
It's a white base colour that you simply mix with your foundation to make it lighter. I had no idea that there was a product like this out there and I am seriously impressed by it. What's good about it is that you can gradually add the white base to your foundation (currently I'm using Max Factor Lasting Performance in 100 Fair if you're interested) on the back of your hand, mix and
keep adding until you get the perfect colour.
I was not really prepared to invest in a high-end expensive foundation such as Mac face and body or Illamasqua because I just don't feel great about spending twenty-something pounds on foundation, especially now I know there can be a far cheaper alternative. The only downside to it is having to mix your foundation every time which can be quite annoying and time-consuming. Having said that, it is worth it for the end result and I would definitely recommend trying a white mixer base before investing in
an expensive and potentially wrong alternative.
Hope any of you pale people out there find this useful! :)

Don't judge me before hearing me out. Pink is the unlikely trend for Autumn/Winter this year and it has crept up on me quite by surprise. I'm not really a 'colour' kind of person, let alone baby pink. And yet, I've got to say, I'm actually really into it. With my own personal style, I am dying to team baby pink pieces with lots of black and leather, for a kind of punky look. I also think it could look amazing dressed head-to-toe with different tones and shades (if only I was that brave...).
It was easy to see from the fall/winter fashion shows earlier in the year that pink was a trend favoured by many designers. Designers like Topshop Unique, Carven, Simone Rocha and Roksanda Illincic all used light pink as a major themes of their fall/winter 2013 collections. The Carven pink coat is a particular piece which is being replicated throughout the high street at the moment. I loved the entire Topshop Unique show, with dusty pinks throughout. Lucky for the general public the collection will soon be available online! I would seriously love to have a piece from the show in my wardrobe this season.

It hasn't taken long for the rest of the highstreet to get involved with this trend either. Below are a handful of my favourite highstreet and high end pieces. In case you don't believe me, this week I bought No.2 ;).

I hope you guys enjoyed! :) Xx

I've been blogging quite a lot this month thanks to a sudden surge of inspiration and enthusiasm on my part. Also, my life is pretty empty at the moment so... hello internet, I've missed you :). Even though I've been doing this for a little while now I'm still figuring out what I love to write about - a combination of music, movies, make-up, fashion and life. With so many big, influential bloggers out there, sometimes I do feel the pressure to write the right thing and try to be like other people. I keep having to remind myself to just write about whatever I like and whatever works for me. I figure that all I can do is write about whatever I'm feeling passionate about and just hope for the best!
