MY DAILY FAVE

So right you need to listen to this song I love it right now. I heard it on New Girl the other day and tracked it down (thanks Google you babe (; ). It is by a band called Beach House and it is called 'Take Care'. Seriously listen to it. It is so dreamy and sweet and I love it so much XOXO

MY DAILY FAVE

Okay so I adore this dress. I lovelove it so much. It is by Vaudeville & Burlesque at Urban Outfitters. It is such a cute and girly and yet daring and edgy little dress. It is slit at the front, so while it looks like a crop-and-skirt situation, it is in fact attached along the back. They do it in a few designs but this pink one is my favourite right now. I would wear it with black ankle boots and leather jacket for sure. It is so sweet! WANT! XOXOX

OLYMPIC NAILS

Hiya! So somehow I managed to leave the house today after a week of not really doing anything (by that I mean watching DVDs and hilarious clips on youtube :|) and ventured into town with my dad for some serious and important grown up jobs (snore). I experienced a rare and completely embarrassing 'fail' moment while getting a new railcard (I hate myself for using the word 'fail' sorry). Okay so I was at the ticket desk with my dad and this guy was signing me up for a new card, and he asked me 'and when were you born?'. This was one of those 'to check that you are who you say you are' kind of things. I was born in May. I know this very well. I don't understand why, but I started to say April. It was kinda like 'Ayypu...um..what? May. MAY!!'. My dad looked at me and I knew he was thinking 'WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU CHILD!?' and all I was thinking was 'AGHH I DON'T KNOW WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME!!'. The guy looked at me like I was a freak. It was so stupid. My mind went blank and I actually managed to forget my birthday. I am so completely stupid sometimes. He clearly thought I was just a having a weird moment (CORRECT) and gave me the card anyway. I was so embarrassed. It was awful. I then went to the bank to ask them why I have no money :'( and the rest of my day has consisted of feeling sorry for myself as I am losing my voice a little bit. So yeah today has just been the best!

It's been really reaaally hot the last week and today it is still pretty muggy and humid, so I wore a black and blue midi dress from Topshop Boutique. I apologise to anyone who was blinded by my snow-white calf's today :( I mean I like the 'pale and interesting' thing but I am a bit of a joke. I am so SO white it can be deeply upsetting LOL okay I don't actually mind that much. I wore the dress with my leopard-print belt, also from Topshop, because it is quite shapeless. The nude pumps are from Topshop and the bag is from a charity shop.

In other news, as today is of course the official start of the London Olympics, I wanted to paint my nails with an Olympic theme. I initially tried to paint little Union Jack's on each nail, but as my little brothers and sister have pretty much squeezed the life out of my white nail art pen, it was a complete failure. SOOo I thought I would get a bit creative and do something different. I painted the nails in red, blue and gold, then added different combinations of glitter and gems. I'm so mad for 3D nail art at the moment so I really wanted to start using gems and things on my nails. I love the end result because they are just a bit of fun and so different from what I have done in the past.

I literally have only started to feel enthusiastic about the Olympics in the last 48 hours or so. It's been in the news I think every single day for about a year. But it does now seen pretty exciting. I really hope tonight is huge spectacle like anticipated and not a total disaster. I also am actually really excited for Team GB to do the best in the next few weeks and bring in the medals. I think it's going to be pretty special for sure. Go London lav ya XOXOXO

MY DAILY FAVE

These metallic platforms are so adorable! They are perfect summer shoes in my opinion. I'd wear them casually with denim cut-offs and a leather jacket, or dress them up with a bodycon dress for night. I need to get my hands on them and then wear them all the time (: They are by Jeffrey Campbell and I managed to track them down at my new favourite store Nasty Gal. Jeffrey Campbell does the best shoes at the moment, so I hope to raise the funds to get loads of his lovely creations ASAP. XOXOX

WORKYWORK

I had work again on Saturday. It was a pretty chilled day really. I really enjoy my job. I don't know why but it really gets me out of my head which, if you know me, is quite important for me. I think I've already said this before, but I love meeting all the nice people that come in. I also love just being in such a beautiful environment. The shop, Stuff & Good Sense, is so unique and pretty and always full of new gorgeous things. For example, on Saturday I steamed and hung up a pile of vintage silk scarves and they are so lush. I wanted to just buy all of them! The shop always has the most gorgeous vintage clothes and accessories that it's hard to say goodbye to them sometimes. But anyway, I just really love my job <3 I wore a black bodycon skirt from Topshop, with a vintage tee and Topshop sleeveless biker jacket. The leopard-print belt is old from Topshop. I wore it with black tights (because it was still pretty chilly) and my trusty bag from a charity shop. XOXO

WEEKEND AT THE MOVIES: PART TWO

Oh my gosh seriously this post is so late it's embarrassing. But YEAAH here I have more stuff to do with films I've watched with my family recently!! Ta-Da!! Although now, not-so recently. So, um yeah I was staying with my step-family two weekends ago and, as usual, we all watched loads of movies together. First up - OMG ITS MEAN GIRLS.

I could talk about Mean Girls forever because it is such a perfect movie. I mean, when I was watching it for maybe the 50th time I thought "I love EVERY part of this film. It is SO perfect". It is seriously the most quotable movie ever. I admit that 'BOO, YOU WHORE' is something I've used in some pretty spot-on situations. Once I walked into my friends ICT lesson (computer studies) and some guy shouted 'SHE DOESN'T EVEN GO HERE!'. Everyone knew what he was talking about and we all cracked up. I've also told people that they smell like a baby prostitute on many occasions (although I mean it as a complement obviously?..). Yesterday, I kindly explained to my older brother that 'I DON'T HATE YOU BECAUSE YOU'RE FAT - YOU'RE FAT BECAUSE I HATE YOU'.

Other big lines include:
- '4 FOR YOU GLEN COCO, YOU GO GLEN COCO'
- 'IF YOU'RE FROM AFRICA, WHY ARE YOU WHITE?' 'OH MY GOD KAREN, YOU CAN'T JUST ASK PEOPLE WHY THEY'RE WHITE.'
- 'YOU CAN'T SIT WITH US!'
- 'ON WEDNESDAYS WE WHERE PINK'
- 'GRETCHEN STOP TRYING TO MAKE 'FETCH' HAPPEN. ITS NOT. GOING. TO HAPPEN!'
- 'AND ON THE THIRD DAY, GOD CREATED THE REMINGTON BOLT ACTION RIFLE, SO THAT MAN COULD FIGHT THE DINOSAURS... AND THE HOMOSEXUALS. AMEN!'

...You see! So quotable! Of course there are many more but for that I would probably need to copy down the whole script. Umm, no.

Oh yeah and you see that cute little Louis Vuitton bag Cady is holding in the picture above? I've actually got one. It was a beautiful gift from Sarah, my step-dad's fiance (SHOUT OUT). I kept watching it and shouting 'THERE IT IS' *3 seconds later* 'THERE IT IS' etc. I think it got really annoying for everyone but to be honest, I did not care. I probably shouldn't, but I can't help loving all the super-girly outfits throughout the film. It is like one long advert for Juicy Couture (all the outfits from the film are from there btw). Maybe this is all part of a deep-set longing to be a Plastic. I mean, I don't think it was the moral of the movie, but I just completely love and idolise them :).

My brothers and step-dad seemed a little unsure about the idea as it is usually all horror movies in that house, but it was so awesome and I think they loved it. My 10-year-old brother (slightly inappropriate) and my 19-year-old brother both found it hysterical. Even my step-dad was LOLing at parts. I believe this is sufficient proof that this film is just universally perfect. But then it is partly written by super-funny woman Tina Fey which explains a lot. It was the best film-watching experience I think we've had as a family in ages. In conclusion, best film of all time? Oh okay then.

So we also watched another film after called The Loved Ones. I don't really have a lot to say about it because it was SO GRIM. I couldn't deal with it at all. It was about this guy who gets kidnapped by a crazy weird girl who is in love with him. It is so creepy and gory and weird and horrible. The only funny or entertaining aspect of the film was this hilarious song that the crazy stalker girl kept playing. As it happens, my step-dad actually owns the song (cringe) and it's called 'Am I Not Pretty Enough?' by Kasey Chambers LOL. HAHAHA oh my god it was so funny. I don't even know whether it will be funny outside the context of the film, but all I know is that myself and step-brother Reece were in hysterics. The rest of the film was just disturbing and upsetting.

P.S I'm sorry if this video ruins your day :)

GOING OUT ON THE TOWN

Okay, last night I went out to Wetherspoons with loads of my closest friends. I had so much fun! It was crazy in there like last time but I think maybe this time I was a little more prepared for it and didn't mind that it was so packed. Ooh maybe I'm growing up (: Although it was so busy that I was waiting at the bar for about half an hour for a drink! It was crazy! Oh and the whole night was just so funny. I remember just laughing like mad because Charlotte (one of the people I was out with, although you probably had already worked that out) randomly shouted 'I NEED TO MILK THE VODKA COW!'. It was so weird and hilarious. We got some pitchers of Blue Lagoon and Purple Rain like classy ladies and they were of course totally lush.  I think cocktails are my new fave. I didn't stay out very late this time and I actually really wanted to. Boo :( Always next time. I wore a white tee from Tesco and a pink skirt from River Island, with a gold chain from Topshop and black tights. The heels are from Select, the rings are from Topshop and my bag is from Marc B.

P.S. I didn't plan for my skirt, nails, shoes and ring to all the the same colour, honest (: Happy accident perhaps? XOXOXOXO

MY BROTHER IS AMAZING

Hello World. Spent the weekend with my beautiful siblings at my step-dad's house. This post is a few days late but I've been so swamped with school work recently so well yeah (: Above is my lovely brother Harvey. He got his exam results a few days ago for his SATS (British exams kids take) and he did so well. He was crying, I was crying, my step-dad was crying. He is only 10 and he was so worried about letting us down, but he was brilliant. I know most of this isn't interesting to anyone and kids taking exams is nothing new or special, but Harvey has had the worst year and still came out of it as just a gorgeous, smart and funny boy and I just wanted to write about it. I love him so much. We are all so immensely proud of you doll <3

We watched some more hilarious and fun movies like the last time. If you don't know what I'm talking about take a gander here. I'll be doing a post on it in the very near future, but for the moment this photo above might be a bit of a clue, I donno XOXOXO

*JAZZ HANDS*

Sooo last week I became a cultured theatre goer. Sort of. My school was doing a production of 'Hairspray' for a couple nights, and somehow I was dragged to watch it TWICE. I'm not all that into musicals or general theatricality much (apart from Grease, Mary Poppins, um.. Calamity Jane, maybe The Sound of Music, Sweeney Todd). Okay, whatever. The point is, I wasn't feeling too enthusiastic about the show. I envisioned that it would be over-the-top and embarrassing. I remember seeing the 2007 version a few years back and just not getting it. Like, at all. So naturally I thought this would be the same. But I tried to be open-minded and figured it could be fun. I went with friends Dannii, Fiona and Charlotte, and had a few friends in the show, so I thought even if the production sucked I could have a laugh or two. As it happened, there were many MANY laughs. To my surprise, I was laughing WITH IT, not AT ALL. Although in saying that, there were also some hilarious cock-ups too. At one point, some members of the cast forgot to turn their mics off, meaning you could hear them bitching about each other HA. It's all the funnier when you know the people and who they are bitching about but yeah :). And on the last night there was actually a tiny little FIRE backstage. No biggie I guess.

The cast were actually so incredibly talented. In particular the girls playing Tracy and Motormouth. They were such amazing singers and performers. But everyone was so much better than I expected. And omg right so the star of the show was leading man/lady Edna Turnblad. Ha the guy playing her was so hysterical and the best part of the show for sure. Oh and there was wine <3. I'm so happy that I decided to go. Just the whole thing was so funny. I wore black Topshop jeans, black jumper, and a Topshop leather jacket. I tied an old check shirt round my waist and took my small bag from a charity shop.

YAY DOGS

Oh hey puppy! Wednesday, my dad and I looked after a friend's dogs for a bit. Trev and Dolly are the most lush little doggies ever! They are so playful and full of energy and so much fun. Trev (the bigger of the two) is just the sweetest little pup ever. When she (yes, Trev IS a girl) was a little puppy her owner brought her over to my house and little baby Trev fell asleep while I was holding her. She was like a tiny little stuffed toy, and it was then that I just became so in love <3. I should probably say that I adore my boss's dog Ziggy and our family dog Sky too. I don't want those guys to feel left out or anything. They are also super adorable and I love them so much. Maybe it's just all dogs. I don't know. I'm quite surprised in myself because I have always been a major cat person. I'm pretty sure that when it comes to me and cats, we have a special bond. We are so on the same wavelength. I actually think I want to be a cat. Cats 4 Lyfe. But now I think I might actually love dogs almost as much. I'm so confused.
